So he couldn’t muster the flashy colors his fine breeding would suggest.  So what?  No need to be gaudy.  And anyway, who was to say he wasn’t just as dashing in these old, jangling jewels?  He was an autumn sort of fellow, proud in these warm, rusty hues.

A fun fact about Peacock Peasant: when you pick him up, those fun, dangly findings on his tail jingle.  Inspired by a previous peacock, the Peacock Prince (who was swathed in twinkling jewels and silver findings), this fellow seems to come from a different walk of life.  One full of intrigue and interest!
