ABOUT THE ARTIST
My name is Jenna Hestekin, and I'm so glad you've come to visit my website. As you may have guessed by now, drawing is my passion. I started drawing about as soon as I could hold a pencil, and have stacks of drawing journals that chronicle my progress. As I explored the wide array of art mediums available, I eventually discovered pen and ink. The first time I tried a technique called stippling, I realized how much I enjoyed it.

A few years later, I gave scratchboard a try. The sharp contrast, the detail, and the drama created by the bright whites through a black board made me love that medium, as well. I like this medium so much, in fact, that I am now a Signature Scratchboard Artist for the International Society of Scratchboard Artists.

My wire sculpture art all began one day when I was bored. I happened to have wire on hand, and made a quick, bare-bones sculpture of a cow (you can see her in the photo). I've been winding wire ever since, allowing my imagination to run free. To wind wire, attach found items, and create sculptures that are either realistic or whimsical is so different from the detailed attention my drawings demand. I'm always going from one to the other of these mediums.

Thanks for checking out my site. I hope you like my work. I'd love to hear from you if you have any questions or comments.
